About 30,000 years ago, grandparents made their first appearance on the planet. What do I mean by that? Well, it was then, according to an article published in Scientific American, that for the first time in history, three generations may have co-existed. Prior to that, due to poor hygiene, infections, fighting, and wooly mammoths, you would be very lucky to live to the ripe, old age of thirty.
Moving forward in time from 1500-1800, you may have added up to ten years to your life expectancy if you were able to avoid dying in childbirth or catching infectious diseases such as typhoid or scarlet fever. According to the Central Intelligence Agency, it has only been in the most recent human history that life expectancy has increased in most parts of the world to over seventy-five years.
This means you are part of one of the first few generations to get two full lifespans to enjoy in one lifetime. Congratulations!
Sometime between your mid-thirties and sixties, you get to have a renaissance, a rebirth, a reincarnation, a complete do-over. I like to call it a Midlife Transformation.
Sometime between your mid-thirties and sixties, you get to have a renaissance, a rebirth, a reincarnation, a complete do-over. I like to call it a Midlife Transformation.
This is a very special and necessary time for you to take a little intermission from your life. You need time to look back on the first half of your life, and decide what works and what doesn’t.
What no longer serves you that you need to let go of and what you want to bring more of into your life to give you increased joy and satisfaction. The question to ask yourself is, “Who have you grown into and what does this individual need to thrive?”
The person you are now is not the same 18-year old version of yourself who originally made the decisions on career and lifestyle that set you on your life’s path. You are someone new and you have this time to pivot and make changes to better align with who you have grown to become.
Being present and inquisitive during this time is a gift you give to yourself.
A human baby gestates for 9 months. During that time she forms, grows, and prepares herself for what is to come next while being supported and cared for by her mother. A woman in midlife may need more or less time to conceive the plan for her next phase of life. I’m here to coach and mentor you through this fun and exciting process.
Reinventing and reinvigorating yourself can be a lot of hard work, but I can help make the journey much easier, more insightful, and most of all, FUN! Expect good things!
Smiles,
